Nathan Burt MBACP
I'm a counselling therapist with broad experience helping people process psychological distress. Enabling them to strengthen the relationship they have with themselves and others.
My professional experience is two-fold. I worked in the creative industry for two+ decades growing a weekend job while at school into international board level roles. Managing complex projects in pressurised environments led to leading teams and mentoring individuals.
Navigating loss in 2011 re-engaged my previous interest in psychology and health. This later inspired me to embark on 4 years of training in Counselling and Psychotherapy as a mature student at Regents University in London.
I transitioned careers in 2016 combining my additional experience in nutrition and physical therapy to start The Unsaid Space. I've since spent 5500+ hours working with individuals, as well as running clinics and educational workshops for businesses and continuing to study human behaviour.
My approach goes beyond the traditional model of ‘talking through problems’ as my training covered humanistic, psychodynamic, and existential theory. I tailor different techniques to help clients express and integrate emotions - as well as open dialogue this may include body focusing, visualisation, breath-work and creative expression.
I'm a registered member of the bacp (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their code of ethical conduct.
